For all patients, both existing and new, we will carry out a free 15 minute consultation online via Zoom video call, or if preferred a telephone call, in order to correctly establish your treatment requirements and advise on potential costs.
At the end of this consultation our admin team will book you an appointment with one of our dental clinicians.

Archie MasseyRoger is an exceptional dentist. His defining trait is that he cares for the long term health of your teeth. He wants that same smile when you’re 90 as you have today. The team (dentist and hygienist) monitor gum and teeth condition over the years and recommend the minimum treatment at the optimal moment to preserve the long term health. No treatment is offered if not required and problems are always consulted on and addressed. He is also very good as educating the patient. Good oral health starts at home! Particularly for me who has to manage implants!

Our success stories
The problem
At 86 years old, Sheila had always felt the white fillings she received in order to close a space between her upper front teeth, could look more aesthetically pleasing. Sheila visited the practice to find out how our dentist could help.
The solution
We advised Sheila on how we could remove the old, stained white fillings – not only on her lateral incisor tooth but also on the central incisor tooth next to it – and polish them back to their natural surface again. We explained how this would give us the space to simply re-apply composite bonding (a white filling) to the lateral incisor tooth. No drilling would be necessary for this procedure, and Sheila was happy to go ahead with the treatment.

The problem
13-year old Polly came to the surgery after her new adult upper lateral incisor teeth had failed to come through in the correct shape and size, giving a rather spiky appearance. Her teeth had also been straightened by her orthodontist, which had left Polly with some spaces between her teeth.
The solution
We discussed the treatment options with Polly; either to restore the tooth with a laboratory-made porcelain veneer or crown, or a simple bond composite (white filling) applied to her two upper lateral front teeth. Polly opted for treatment which meant that no tooth structure would need to be removed, and bond composite (white filling material) was applied to her two upper lateral front teeth.

The problem
Topsy presented to us with a missing front tooth after tripping on the pavement in town and knocking it out.
The solution
The tooth had been knocked out very cleanly, and after discussing the patient’s options with her, we provided her with an immediate temporary front tooth. For the longer term, Topsy wished to replace the missing tooth but did not want a denture or bonded bridge, as these come with the possible risk of falling out. Her preference was for a fixed solution, and it was agreed that a single tooth dental implant and crown was the answer.

The problem
Fergus came to us with a problem regarding natural dark brown and extreme white mottling of his teeth, which was affecting his smile.
The solution
We carried out a staged approach with Fergus. Initially we carried out micro abrasion. Once this settled we carried out tooth whitening. Once this settled we carried out a simple camouflage treatment to settle down the remaining extreme white patches. No fillings were carried out, this was a very minimally invasive treatment. Years later, the wonderful true whiteness of his teeth still shines out when he smiles. A lovely broad smile now too!

The problem
Amelie was playing at the beach whilst sailing one Saturday. She and her friend were bouncing a marker buoy back to each other when the buoy bashed her face a bit too hard and broke her tooth.
The solution
The team at Market House met Amelie and her Dad that same day and worked into the evening to get her back on the water the next day in comfort and with this wonderful new tooth. Amelie is now going to University and that same composite restoration is as good as the day it was done and the tooth still in good health.

Roger-James Scholes
Roger-James represents the 3rd generation of dentists at Market House and continues the work of his father’s 40 years of care.
Roger graduated from King’s College, London and has been working in general dentistry for over 20 years. One of his greatest pleasures is restoring mouths which have run into difficulty over the years and seeing the transformation in patient confidence, health and vibrancy. Having been mentored by previous skilled and caring dentists at the practice and consultant specialists, he spends much of his time carrying out complex restorative cases. Arriving at creative solutions with the patient to optimise their oral health for their lifestyle and stage of life.
