There are a variety ways in which bridges can be made.
Either porcelain bonded to gold, a metal alloy or made entirely of white porcelain. It is important to replace missing teeth, to support the remaining teeth and prevent movement of adjacent teeth.

Our bridge success story
The problem
Bob had lost his lower front six teeth due to infection. He was very keen to have his missing teeth replaced but did not like the idea of a denture, which could be prone to moving around. Bob required a fixed, long-term solution, and we discussed different ways this could be achieved. The choice was either to have a bridge attached to his natural teeth, or have the large gap restored with teeth supported on dental implants.
The solution
Bob’s preference was to have teeth put back with dental implants. To keep costs reasonable, we attached the six teeth to two dental implants with a restoration called a bridge. As you can see from the photographs, these work very successfully indeed and Bob has been enjoying the benefits of this bridge for nearly 5 years now.

Roger graduated from King’s College, London and has been working in general dentistry for over 20 years.
